Thomas John “Tommy” Paul is an American professional tennis player from Boca Raton, Florida. The 25-year-old was a consistent performer during his junior days, reaching a career-high ITF junior ranking of third.
Paul reached two junior Grand Slam finals – the 2015 French Open boys’ singles final, where he overcame fellow American Taylor Fritz in three sets. Meanwhile, in his second final at the 2015 US Open boys’ singles final, he lost to the same opponent in three sets.
An aggressive baseliner, Paul turned professional in 2015. He won his maiden ATP title at the 2021 Stockholm Open and has a career-high ATP singles ranking of 28th.
Following are Tommy Paul’s endorsement and sponsorship deals.
Following the completion of his Nike deal, Paul joined hands with another American company in New Balance on a multi-year deal. One of the world’s largest sports footwear and apparel manufacturers, New Balance signed Paul in March 2021.
The Japanese sports equipment manufacturer has been making quick in-roads into the tennis market by signing numerous youngsters of the future. Of late, after his deal with Wilson ended, Paul signed Yonex as his racquet sponsor. Although the exact details are yet to be known, it is understood that this is a long-term contract.
The 25-year-old American signed a sponsorship with Motorola at the start of the 2023 Australian Open in January. Motorola is an American multinational telecommunications company that manufactures cell phones and other electronics.
The German multinational corporation was Paul’s first apparel and footwear sponsor when he started as a teenager. Adidas had tied up the promising American on a multi-year deal that came to an end after his junior French Open triumph in May 2015.
Nike was next in line to sign Paul. As per reports, the two had agreed on a five-and-a-half-long contract that ran from July 2015 to March 2021. Although there were rumours that Paul might extend his deal with Nike, he later walked away from the idea.
Paul and Wilson’s association dates back to the very beginning of his junior career. The American-Austrian sports equipment manufacturer had a decade-long journey with the American, but the two parted ways as 2022 came to a close. Paul used to play with the Wilson Blade racquet.
