Top 5 male cricket captains of all time

Top 5 male cricket captains of all time

Arguably Australia’s most composed captain, Steve Waugh started his reign in 1999-00, embarking on Australia’s dominance in world cricket. He captained 163 matches for Australia between 1999 and 2004. He holds the highest win record percentage in Test cricket history, of 71.92%, winning 41 matches out of 57. Under his captaincy, the Aussies won 16 consecutive Test matches, including the famous 5-0 victory over the West Indies. In 1999, the Australian team captained by Waugh clinched their second ICC World Cup. The team had a slow start, holding off Scotland and advancing to the next rounds. Waugh pulled Australia out from under the jaws of South Africa, playing his famous innings of 120* in the Super Sixes knockout round. Finally, the team had a comfortable victory over Pakistan to lift the trophy. In the cabinet of individual achievements, Waugh is only the second male cricketer to lift two World Cups. He scored over 10,000 runs in Test cricket, some of them coming in a very memorable innings in which he scored 157* in the fifth Test of The Ashes of 2001. Ignoring all medical advice, Waugh played this unbelievable knock limping on one leg. All of the above makes him a great contender for the best captain in the world.

One bowler who each IPL franchise should buy, and who would fit perfectly with their squad.

One bowler each IPL team should buy in the 2022 auction

The IPL mega-auction is right around the corner, set to take place on the 12th and 13th of February. All franchises are looking to bolster their respective squad, because if the rumours are right, this might be the last mega-auction. We all love the T20 format for all the big-hitting, but as all the professionals and pundits say, it’s the bowlers that win you the games and wickets that win you championships. With two new teams set to feature in this season’s IPL and every team searching for world-class bowlers, here we take a look at one bowler who I believe each IPL franchise should buy, and who would fit perfectly with their squad.

One batter each IPL team should sign in the mega auction

The IPL mega auction is back and probably bigger than ever. With the IPL introducing two new teams from the start of the 2022 season, with every team only being allowed to retain a maximum of four players, the mega auction, which is set to take place on the 12th and 13th of February, 2022, is set to be one of the most exciting ones in IPL history. There have also been rumors that this might be the last mega auction in the IPL, hence it’s very important how the franchises go about their business in the auction: they must buy for the present while also keeping future talents in mind. In this article, I am going to discuss with you one player I feel each IPL team should sign in the upcoming mega auction.
