Sky Sports nets SA20 deal

Sky Sports acquires broadcast rights 

Sky Sports has announced a new five-year deal with the upcoming South Africa T20 cricket league. The UK-pay-television broadcaster will be broadcasting the entire tournament on their channel Sky Sports Cricket, starting from January 10, 2023.

The tournament will have a total of 33 matches which the six teams will take part in. The teams wil play each other twice in a round-robin stage before the semi-finals and finals. The six franchises participating in the inaugural edition will be Quinto De Kock led Durban’s Super Giants, Faf du Plessis led Joburg Super Kings, Rashid Khan led MI Cape Town, David Miller led Paarl Royals, Wayne Parnell led Pretoria Capitals and Sunrisers Eastern Cape which will be led by Aiden Makram. 

 Bryan Henderson, Director of Cricket, Sky Sports, commented,

“We are thrilled to add the SA20 to our portfolio of cricket rights. We believe it will be a terrific competition with some of the best English players involved.”
