Portland Trail Blazers Sponsors 2023/24

Following are the companies and organisations that serve as sponsors and brand partners to the NBA team, the Portland Trail Blazers, and enjoy a strong branding presence across their physical and digital assets.

McDonald’s

Fast food chain McDonald’s and the Portland Trail Blazers have enjoyed a longstanding relationship that began way back in 2013 when the two teamed up for the “100-Point Play” promotion penned for a five-year period. The deal saw McDonald’s offer fans in the stadium free McDonald’s Sausage McMuffin with Egg each time the Trail Blazers scored 100 or more points in an NBA match.

The parties have continued their relationship ever since, and the brand gains visibility by featuring on the social media platforms of the basketball team and its digital assets.

Michelob Ultra

Anheuser-Busch InBev, a multinational drink and brewing company based in Leuven, Belgium, is the Portland Trail Blazers’ official sponsor. Through this partnership, the brewing company’s light beer enjoys visibility across the social media platforms of the basketball team.

Moda Health

The Portland Trail Blazers began their relationship with health insurance provider Moda Health in late 2013 when the two parties decided to rename the Rose Garden as the Moda Center for a period of 10 years. At the time, it was reported that the deal was worth $40 million.

As part of the deal, Moda also got access to Television, radio and digital advertising inventory.

Sprite

The Portland Trail Blazers and Sprtie have partnered with each other since 2012 when the two parties came together to donate $20,000 to Portland Parks & Recreation to redo the rims, backboards, benches and playing surfaces. Today, Sprite enjoys visibility by featuring across the team’s social media channels and other digital assets.

First Tech

The Portland Trail Blazers and First Tech Federal Credit Union announced their multi-year partnership in 2017, which continues to run to date. As per the deal, First Tech gained visibility by appearing through signage inside Moda Center, while also being present on broadcasts and social media assets of the basketball team. 

The parties also made the Trail Blazers-themed Tech Federal Credit Union affinity cards. 

Root Sports

The Portland Trail Blazers announced its four-year partnership with Root Sports Northwest in 2021, to broadcast the NBA matches of the basketball team after deciding to end ties with NBC Sports Northwest following a 14-year partnership between the parties.

Their current broadcast deal with Root Sports will conclude after the 2024/25 NBA season.

Rebound Orthopedics

Rebound Orthopedics & Neurosurgery has served as the team physician for the Portland Trail Blazers since 1994 and continues to help the team’s athletes remain fit during the NBA season.

The brand gains visibility by appearing across the basketball team’s social media platforms and other digital assets.

Xfinity

Comcast Xfinity has a running media partnership with the Portland Trail Blazers to bring viewers live matches of the team. This agreement was signed between the parties in 2016 and runs to date.

Alaska Airlines

The Portland Trailblazers announced in January 2023 that it decided to expand its partnership with Alaska Airlines, which means fans will get to see more of Alaska on and off the court.

As part of the deal, the Trail Blazers will promote “The Trail” docuseries, which will be made available in-flight. Further, the parties will expand on the “Wear in the World” promotion, their social media campaigns and more.

NICWA

The National Indian Child Welfare Association (NICWA), a 40-year-old non-profit organization headquartered in Portland, is the community partner of the Portland Trail Blazers, and the two come together for various community benefit activations as part of the partnership.

The NICWA in April 2024 will be hosting 1800 tribal children as part of the organization’s annual conference to educate tribal communities on the prevention of child abuse and neglect.

Calm

Meditation app Calm signed as corporate sponsor of the Portland Trail Blazers in February 2021. 

The rationale behind the sponsorship is to associate Calm with stressful in-game moments. The partnership includes digital and social assets and some traditional marketing inventory, which includes branding through arena signage and logo popups on TV. Localised versions of Calm’s “Do Nothing” TV campaign are also part of the agreement.

Verizon

The telecommunication industry giant has its 5G spread across 60 NBA arenas, having agreed on multi-year agreements with 15 NBA franchises, the Portland Trail Blazers being one of them.

The company’s 5G Ultra Wideband network enables the franchises to provide their fans with more immersive experiences and allows their arenas to use next-gen solutions for operational purposes around public safety, access, concessions and crowd management.

Pamplin Pilots

Pamplin School of Business and the Portland Trail Blazers announced the commencement of their partnership in April 2023 to support the team and provide internships and employment opportunities to the institution’s business students.

UBCO

Oregon-based UBCO, a company manufacturing adventure electric bikes signed a partnership with the Portland Trail Blazers in December 2022, which aims at promoting emission-free commuting. 

With initiatives that have started in 2023, UBCO ensures to spread the message of enjoying adventure in a sustainable and responsible manner. The parties also come together for in-arena activations and engagements, as well as special offers for Trail Blazers ticket holders.

The parties will also launch UBCO’s first-ever experience-driven flagship hub, where guests can learn about exciting off-road adventure bikes.

Socios

In February 2022, Socios, an all-in-one influence and sports rewards app, announced a multi-platform marketing partnership with the Portland Trail Blazers and the NBA. This partnership will see the parties provide fans the opportunity to influence the soundtracks at the Moda Center and choose the preferred songs they want to hear during NBA matches.

The brand also gains visibility through in-arena and broadcast signage. Socios also owns the rights to an enter-to-win contest for five Blazers fans, who can stand a chance to enjoy a  VIP experience at a home match.

Eastside Distilling

In November 2021, Portland-based craft distillery Eastside Distilling signed a three-year sponsorship deal with the Trail Blazers at the Moda Centre for the 2021-24 seasons. Eastside Distilling became the Trail Blazers’ spirits partner, hosting exciting brand and tasting experiences to highlight its full premium whiskey line-up at the exclusive Moda Centre event-level Courtside Club and Sphere lounge.

The deal between the two parties also entails Eastside Distilling brand takeovers at two central bar locations: one as Presenting Partner of the Local Pour space on the main concourse and another at the current Bar 41 on the suite level. In addition, the deal also includes the rights to use the Trail Blazers logo on point-of-sale items at retail and in bars and restaurants.
