fter months of speculations and numerous teases, Valve have finally given an official update about Counter-Strike 2, the sequel to Valve's extremely popular esports title, Counter-Strike : Global Offensive. Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) according to Valve is the 'largest technical leap forward in Counter-Strike's history' and all the new features will be revealed in the summer, when it is released. Limited testing for select players gets underway on March 22, 2023, and players who are selected will work towards evaluation of a subset of features to get the game ready before its worldwide release. The game will be a free upgrade to CS:GO. Amongst the new features, those that were announced in the release videos are :- Smokes - Counter-Strike 2 will see smoke grenades become 'dynamic volumetric objects' which will interact with the environment it's thrown in and additionally it will also react to gunfire, lighting and explosions. Bullets and HE grenades will be able to break up the smokes momentarily while the smokes now will also take the shape of the environment its thrown in. Smokes will also react to the lighting and CS2 will have CT smokes in the shade of light blue while the T smokes will be brown-ish grey. Sub-Tick - One of the most debated points in CS:GO was the tick rate and CS2 will be tickless - which means tick rates will no longer matter for shooting, moving or throwing grenades.

International esports organisation Team Spirit have announced that they will launch a female Counter-Strike division. Spirit will be launching the Team Spirit Female (TSF) team and the roster will make its debut in the ESL Impact series. The roster which makes up the TSF team is the same one that participate under the MVP name. The team currently consists of Justina 'Tynka' Ducká, Jammie 'Jammie' Alagozova, Lea 'xia' Vagová, Svetlana 'suns1de' Mevlid, Mirte 'Moraltis' Horemans. Aleksey 'Nevar' Voronov will serve as the team's coach. Nikita Cheshir Chukalin, CEO of Team Spirit, commented, "Anyone who has been following our organisation for a long time knows that we have been nurturing the idea of a female CS:GO roster for years. However, we have put it off, often due to circumstances beyond our control. Women's esports is an area that is growing so fast that it cannot wait any longer. After following this sphere for a long time and considering many teams, we finally decided that this particular lineup is currently performing at a good level and can become a part of Team Spirit. ‘This is the first-ever female roster in the history of our organisation, so we can call it a double experiment: female and European, English-speaking roster. I sincerely hope both experiments will succeed and the girls show their best qualities."

Leading esports and video game entertainment firm ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) have announced the details and dates for the upcoming brand new ESL Pro Tour (EPT) for Dota 2, which will be held in April 2023. The ESL Pro Tour will see the return of the DreamLeague, and the new seasons featuring 16 of the world's best teams competing and the DreamLeague will be an online event, produced from EFG’s Stockholm Studios in Sweden. The DreamLeague is a Dota 2 tournament which stopped in 2020. The inaugural season of Dota 2 ESL Pro Tour will have two DreamLeague Season which will be :- Season 19: April 9-23, 2023. The winning team will qualify directly for the Group Stage of Riyadh Masters. Season 20: June 7-25, 2023. The winner and runner-up will both qualify directly for the Riyadh Masters Group Stage. The main EPT will have two group stages and a playoff round. The group stages will get underway in late March 2023, following the group stage, the first DreamLeague season will take place. Following the DreamLeague season 19, the group stages will resume after which the season 20 of the DreamLeague will take place. The group stages will have a total of 16 teams, with the top four advancing to the second group stage. The second group stage will have a total of eight teams. The EPT season final will take place at the Riyadh Masters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on July 17 - 30, 2023. The top 20 teams will fight it out for a total prize pool of $15,000,000 and the title of the EPT Champions.

With ace CS:GO athletes such as captain Swayambika Sachar (Sway), Shagufta Iqbal (xyaa), Nidhi Salekar (Stormyyy), Dilraj Kaur Matharu (COCO), Aastha Nangia (CrackShot) and Priyanka Choudhary (ALEXAA) as Substitute in their squad, Top-G proved their mettle against team Purr-ple in the closely-contested finals. Top-G dominated the first map by 16 -10 before Purr-ple made a stunning comeback to win the second map 16-14. While both teams were going toe-to-toe in the enthralling finals, Top-G utilised their effective teamwork and proficient attacking tactics to edge out their opponents and take the last map by 19-15 in overtime.
