ATP and FedEx end partnership

The 12-year partnership comes to an end.

US-based logistics firm FedEx has confirmed that it will not renew its global partnership with the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) following the expiration of the deal at the end of 2021.

FedEx had been a partner of the tour since 2010. The initial deal saw FedEx gain rights to the ATP Finals in London for a period of three years from 2010, before Mercedes-Benz took over in 2013. The partnership was renewed in 2014, 2017 and 2020, with the last renewal seeing FedEx become the title sponsor of the ATP Rankings and the presenting sponsor of the ATP World No. 1 trophy.

FedEx released a statement that read:

FedEx regularly reviews our sport sponsorships to be fully aligned with our overall corporate strategy. We continuously explore sponsorship opportunities to support our commercial and community strategy.

Although its tennis partnership ends, FedEx still has significant partnerships in the sporting world as it holds the naming rights for the home venue the Washington Football Team, an NFL team and the Memphis Grizzlies, an NBA team. The logistics firm is also a partner of the PGA Tour, where it serves as the title sponsor for the end-year playoff series.
