Antoine Griezmann’s Sponsors

This article contains information regarding one of the most flamboyant footballers, Antoine Griezmann, and his sponsors and investments.

SPONSORS

Puma – The German sportswear giant has been Griezmann’s official boot supplier since July 2010. The Frenchman was the leading footballer for their marketing campaigns, designing many of his boots, until Neymar joined last year.
In 2015, Griezmann extended his deal with Puma in a ten-year extension worth £3.5m-per-year.

Head & Shoulders – Griezmann has been an official ambassador of the famous Procter & Gamble-owned shampoo brand since 2017 and has featured in several of their ad campaigns.

Gillette – Griezmann became a regional ambassador of the famous Procter & Gamble-owned shampoo brand for France in September 2016.

Beats Electronics – The California-based audio products manufacturer has been an official sponsor of Griezmann since 2016.

Previous Deals

Konami – The Chuo, Tokyo-headquartered Japanese entertainment, video game, and gambling conglomerate announced Griezmann as an ambassador for its collectible card game of the hit multimedia franchise “Yu-Gi-Oh!”, called “Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game” in June 2021. The deal would have seen a Griezmann-themed card released, with the Frenchman directly involved in its design.
However, a month later, the company announced that it was unilaterally terminating Griezmann’s contract after a footage emerged of him and his Barça teammate Ousmane Dembélé mocking two Japanese technicians who were fixing the television in the players’ room while the team were on a pre-season tour in Japan in 2019. The two could be heard making pejorative comments about the technicians’ appearance and the manner in which they spoke.
Konami also serves as the official video game partner of Barça for its annually released football simulation series eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer. Konami has asked the club to provide an explanation on the matter and discuss the future of their deal.

EA Sports – Griezmann has featured regularly in EA Sports’ annual football simulation game series FIFA. He even served as the cover star for its 2015 instalment, FIFA 16.

Huawei – Griezmann became a global ambassador of Shenzhen-headquartered Chinese tech company Huawei but dropped the role in December 2020 amidst increasing speculation regarding Huawei’s contribution in development of a ‘Uighur alert’ facial recognition software.

HYT – Griezmann became an ambassador of Biel/Bienne-headquartered Swiss watchmaker HYT in June 2017. The company filed for bankruptcy in March 2021.

INVESTMENTS

Grizi Esport – Griezmann launched his own eSports organisation called Grizi Esport in January 2020, whose players compete in Rainbow Six Siege, Fortnite, and FIFA.
