On behalf of SportsKhabri, I recently sat down to chat with the Call of Duty: Mobile (CoDM) team of GodLike Esports. For this interview, I was joined by Jash “Learn” Shah, Abhishek “AbhizDADA” Nagar, Gaurang “PreVail” Palav, and Zeel “Neutrino” Patel.
The players talk about their respective journeys of starting a career in gaming to eventually ending up as runners-up in the CoDM World Championships in 2023, revealing the hardships they have faced in convincing families at home about a career in gaming, their troubles with putting India on the esports map, and daily practice routines, among other things.
One would assume that most gamers spend time away from the gaming screens during their free time. However, the GodLike team tell us that they often end up playing other games similar to CoDM.
“Learn” and “Neutrino” share anecdotes of their World Championship campaign, taking us through the highs and lows from the year before to returning and going deep into the tournament just a year later.
The group also tell us the scope for esports in India and where the country will stand in the years to come.
