Alpine set to launch second season of Alpine Esports Series

Tournament gets underway from April 28, 2022.

French manufacturer of racing and sports cars Alpine’s esports division, Alpine Esports, has announced the launch of the second season of the Alpine Esports Series.

The sim racing competition will get underway from April 28 with a prize pool of US$100,000 in Fan Tokens. Winners will also stand a chance of winning exciting other prizes such as the experience of driving an Alpine GT4, a TRX simulator rig from Trak Racer and a BenQ Mobiuz monitor. The series is set to be powered by one of the world’s leading blockchain ecosystem and cryptocurrency exchange Binance while being run by sim racing partner Race Clutch.

The second season’s qualifiers will last till April 17 after getting underway on April 4, which will see 30 of the fastest drivers make it through to the main competition. The second phase, which will consist of three rounds, will run from April to June.

The dates released for the Alpine Esports Series Championship are as follows:

  • Round 1: 28th April (Races 1 and 2)
  • Round 2: 12th May (Races 3 and 4)
  • Round 3: 23rd June (Races 5 and 6)

Cédric Journel, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Alpine, commented:

We see sim racing as being an evolution of sport with the real and virtual worlds offering a natural synergy that can’t be matched in any other esports or sport categories.

Sim racing drivers have a natural driving ability and the realism the technology offers between the game Assetto Corsa Competizione and the rigs makes for compelling entertainment. We’re excited to bring the Alpine Esports Series back for a second year.

Wayne Tian, Head of Binance Fan Token, added:

Alpine Esports Series aligns seamlessly with Binance Fan Token’s commitment to fostering an exciting new world where the virtual and real worlds meet. Our partnership extends beyond the physical F1 track and into the digital one as well – we want Alpine’s racers and fans to have access to unforgettable experiences, exclusive interactions with the team, and unique benefits that only our Binance Fan Tokens can truly provide.

We are determined to help Alpine Esports take the event to the next level with our latest innovations and look forward to the exciting ride ahead!

Valerio Piersanti, VP Licensing and Partnerships at Kunos Simulazioni, stated:

We are very pleased to collaborate on the ambitious program Alpine is creating in esports. More collaborations will come in the future with this outstanding organisation.

With more than 100 drivers having taken part in the inaugural edition in 2021, Alpine will be looking for an even more successful second edition with the new season getting underway using the Assetto Corsa Competizione platform.
