Alex Albon was born in London and makes his return to Formula 1 this season as the replacement for George Russell, who is now set to race for Mercedes. The 26-year-old made his F1 debut for Toro Rosso in 2019 and in the same year was promoted to the Red Bull team mid-season, replacing Pierre Gasly.
In his debut season, Albon finished eighth in the Drivers’ championship and also received the Rookie of the Year award from the FIA. However, his following seasons didn’t go as well, and he was demoted to being a reserve driver.
Coming back into the F1 circuit, Albon already has a taste for F1, and he will look to prove a point to Red Bull and help Williams in getting some points during the 2022 season.
