McLaren’s rookie driver and 2021 Formula 2 champion Oscar Piastri is gearing up for his maiden home Formula One debut at the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne. Piastri’s incredible success in the junior categories have already put all the spotlight on him during his debut Formula One season.

Piastri is only the sixth driver ever to win the Formula 2 championship in his rookie season and the fifth driver ever to win the Formula 3 and Formula 2 championships in consecutive seasons. In his debut season at McLaren, he will be partnering British driver Lando Norris, with the duo being one of the most exciting driver line-ups on the grid.

As the young Australian gears up for the 2023 Australian Grand Prix, he sits down to talk about early days in go-karting, his earliest Australian Grand Prix memories, the tiring life of a Formula One driver, and his home city, Melbourne.
